LOL go get some coffee and timbitz before you make a costly mistake. x3
And holy cow, that looks like a seriously impressing model. :o That metallic shading looks simple, yet very realistic.

It is many just a simple HDR map that does all of the work.

You're good with texturing. :) I just wouldn't know texturing techniques like that.

This means a lot coming from you. If you look closely you will see he stole something from your marine. He will not be able to take an arrow to it after all. ;) I'm sort of a jackal in the way I kitbash.

If anything my edge termination and exposure control is what I need work on the most. I have already finished unwrapping all the major parts and have began texturing but I am wondering if anything in particular stands out to you?

I have a hard time imagining any texture that would make it look better than it already does :XD:

Is this guy supposed to be fully chrome?

Nope.

He went full HDR BLOOM! Never go full HDR BLOOM!

All joking aside this is merely a stand-in texture until I can do it proper. It is hyper glossy to highlight mesh pinching among other imperfections and artifacts while an exaggerated ambient occlusion highlights... downlightsssss(?)... contrasts inset detail. :)

So you're planning to improve it later on?

Oh hell yes! I plan on fully texturing it. However given its severe complexity only the most major parts will receive their own unique textures where as the rest will be given generic metal textures (all custom made of course) with basic texture mapping. The more complex mechanical pieces will still need to be completely unwrapped. Furthermore there are still a couple of pieces I am considering modeling along the way. (internal mechanics for the thigh, forearm, and chest/torso)

Complicated :icony-u-noplz:
Good luck with that anyways, i'm sure you'll achieve the result you're aiming for.

Yes! I have never unwrapped a model with so much intricate edge termination before. There is no telling what will happen!
